Yellow Leaf Music, Yellow Leaf Publishing and Yellow Leaf Studio share one conviction: music is a human affair, and the way we keep it alive should respect people and the planet alike. Here are our commitments.
Music made by humans
We do not use artificial intelligence to produce music. We believe humans are at the heart of creation and must be able to share their emotions.
We do, however, allow ourselves to use artificial intelligence for needs that are not directly related to the music or the lyrics.
Low-impact digital, hosted by us
Our web services are hosted by us, in our own data centre.
- 100% solar electricity. All the electricity needed to run it comes from photovoltaic generation; at night, we use electricity stored in batteries.
- Refurbished hardware. The equipment we use is refurbished, bought second-hand or repaired.
- No water, no air conditioning. No water and no air conditioning are used to cool our data centre.
In this way we keep the digital environmental footprint of our services as small as possible.
This commitment covers the services we host ourselves. The environmental impact of music distributed on third-party platforms, streaming platforms in particular, is not up to us, and we have no say in the matter.
Recyclable music formats
We are working on recyclable formats for music, such as the QRDisc™. A dedicated page and website will soon be devoted to it.
Our affiliations
- The Yellow Leaf Music label is a member of the SCPP (Société civile des producteurs phonographiques), the FELIN (Fédération nationale des labels indépendants) and the SNEP (Syndicat national de l’édition phonographique), and is affiliated with the CNM (Centre national de la musique).
- Yellow Leaf Publishing, our publishing arm, is a member of SACEM (Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique) and works with Lalouline, our sub-publisher.
